Rio Bravo acquisition puts full ownership under BHE Renewables
Roma, Texas – BHE Renewables announces today that it has completed the purchase of Rio Bravo Windpower, LLC (Rio Bravo), located on the South Texas border.

Rio Bravo is a 237-megawatt wind farm with 66 Vestas 3.6-megawatt turbines in Starr County, Texas, and began commercial operations in June 2019. Prior to the acquisition, effective March 28, 2025, BHE Renewables was a tax equity partner in the project and had a partial ownership interest since the project achieved commercial operations. Rio Bravo joins BHE Renewables’ 12 other owned wind projects, including five in the state of Texas, with a total wind fleet capacity of 2,544 megawatts.
