Bishop Hill II Wind Project Bishop Hill II Wind Project

Bishop Hill ll

Henry County, Illinois

Bishop Hill II holds the distinction of being BHE Renewables’ first wind project. The site is unique in its historic location, known as the Bishop Hill Swedish colony.

Staying true to our belief in Environmental Respect, WEST Environmental Services performs avian and bat studies on-site. Like many wind sites, Bishop Hill II’s blades stop turning completely for periods of time – known as curtailment – during specific bird and bat migrations each fall due to the project’s proximity to migratory routes.

Generation from the project is sold to Ameren Illinois under a long-term power purchase agreement.
