MidAmerican Renewables assumes management of the legacy CalEnergy assets, including ten geothermal generation facilities, four natural gas-fired cogeneration facilities, and the Casecnan hydroelectric and irrigation project in the Philippines.

Casecnan Hydroelectric Transfer
Ownership of Casecnan hydroelectric and irrigation facility are transferred to the Philippine government in 2021. During 2022, BHE Renewables provides pathways for 27 employees and their families to transfer to BHE Renewables geothermal operations.

The Ravenswood Microgrid
BHE Renewables begins construction on a first-of-its-kind renewable energy microgrid with battery storage in Millwood, West Virginia. The Ravenswood Microgrid will power TIMET’s new titanium melt facility, bringing hundreds of jobs to Jackson County.

BHE Renewables enters a joint venture with OXY Low Carbon Ventures to extract lithium from brine flowing through geothermal power plants in Imperial Valley, California.
