Grand Prairie Wind Project Grand Prairie Wind Project

Grande Prairie

Holt County, Nebraska

The Grande Prairie Wind Project is situated on approximately 45,000 acres in rural Nebraska near the town of O’Neill. Grande Prairie’s wind turbines are strategically placed in corners of irrigated fields to prevent impact on crop production, which is a priority for this rural agricultural community.

Economic development is integral to how we do business. We’re proud to be in Holt County, where we provide permanent full-time jobs and work with participating landowners to generate renewable wind energy for the Omaha Public Power District.

Community Impact

The Nebraska Community Foundation provides communities with resources to flourish. The Grande Prairie Wind Project contributes annually to the foundation with the purpose of investing in community improvements.

In February 2025, BHE Renewables invested in the O’Neill Police Department, which was missing one key member of its force – a police dog. BHE Renewables proudly supported the effort to help the local police department re-establish a K9 program.
