BHE Renewables to Acquire Texas Solar Project from OCI Solar

DES MOINES, Iowa – (Jan. 18, 2017) – BHE Renewables announced today it has completed the acquisition of the 110-megawatt Alamo 6 solar project, located in Pecos County, Texas, from OCI Solar Power.

Construction on Alamo 6 began in May 2015, and the site is expected to be in commercial operation by first quarter 2017.

CPS Energy will purchase the electricity from the Alamo 6 solar project according to the terms of a 25-year power purchase agreement. The project will interconnect to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas power region through the Lower Colorado River Authority.

OCI Solar Power is based in San Antonio. BHE Renewables, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company, is headquartered in Des Moines.

With the addition of the 110 megawatts from the Alamo 6 project, BHE Renewables’ solar portfolio has reached 1,484 megawatts.
