Delivering Solar Energy Solutions
Solar energy is the most abundant energy resource on Earth and the fastest growing form of new electric generation. Solar energy is reliable, renewable and can be harvested directly for heat and light, and indirectly by converting sunlight into electricity. BHE Renewables owns and operates over 1,600 megawatts of solar-powered generation, plus one of the world’s largest solar and battery storage microgrids under development in West Virginia. Our California solar projects – each the largest in the world at the time it was built – set the standard for safety, conservation and economic impact.

Meeting Growing Energy Needs
Solar energy and battery storage solutions are changing the game of sustainable energy optimization. BHE Renewables is at the forefront of deploying this technology to help businesses power their operations sustainably and reliably without overburdening the grid.
The U.S. is experiencing a surge in electricity demand not seen since the early 2000s. With advancements in AI, data center expansion and new domestic manufacturing, the Department of Energy projects demand to rise by 15-20% over the next decade. (Source: U.S. DOE 2024)
What is a Solar Microgrid?
A renewable energy microgrid is an innovative and increasingly popular energy technology that's giving businesses and communities access to more sustainable and reliable power. A solar microgrid can be used to power one or multiple facilities by generating electricity using solar power. Our solar microgrid in Ravenswood, West Virginia, consists of solar arrays placed on land that BHE Renewables purchased from the West Virginia Economic Development Authority. The panels generate solar energy that will power a battery energy storage system. The microgrid will power TIMET’s state-of-the-art titanium facility to produce titanium products, delivering 70% of its electricity demand on an annual basis.
